Keep Showing Up for Your Shift!

Have you ever felt overwhelmed—but in the best way possible? That’s how I’ve felt lately. It’s crazy. Sometimes I look at this ministry and wonder, God, did You really call me to this? Is it really impacting souls? Is it really bringing people closer to You?

And then today, I woke up and just felt off. Not burnt out—just physically and mentally tired. My body and mind were dragging a bit. But God, in His goodness, led me straight to Hebrews 12:1–3:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.”

That hit hard. It reminded me that I’ve got to keep enduring. I’ve got to keep showing up for my shift, especially when it’s hard.

I don’t feel called to a resting season right now. I’m not burnt out. I’m just tired—but with a burning conviction deep inside of me to keep sharing Jesus.

See, I used to live in this cycle: push hard for three months, burn out, rest for three months, and repeat. But this time… it’s different. I feel it in my spirit. Even though today didn’t go as planned—I had so many ministry content and projects lined up—I still showed up. It wasn’t perfect, but I did it.

I put the reps in, because one day, if I keep going, those reps will turn into strong spiritual muscles.

Running an online ministry can be hard. There’s no physical room full of people. You don’t always see the fruit. Sometimes, you wonder if what you’re doing is really making a difference. But today reminded me that I’m right where God wants me to be.

I showed up for my shift—and my reason was Jesus.

Last year, I went through heartache. And Jesus showed up for me. So yeah, I can record a “silly little video” for Him. Because He endured the cross for me. That alone gives me motivation to keep going.

And then, out of nowhere, I got a few messages from people saying they accepted Jesus through this ministry. Others told me how much they love the way I minister—just the way God designed me.

I’m not a Sarah Jakes Roberts—I don’t march with a booming voice. I’m more like a little lamb in the Kingdom. Quiet. Often overlooked.

But God is using my quiet little voice. I remember being in Bible school and hearing the preacher say, “God will use you exactly how you are.” And He has. I’ve gotten messages saying, Your voice calms me. It moved my heart. And every time, I think: Wow. God… You’re doing something.

I’m sharing this today because it convicted me of those years when I’d start strong and fizzle out. What did I miss on the other side of that inconsistency? What heart was waiting for a word I never showed up to give?

Yes, God’s plans are sovereign. If not me, He’ll use someone else. But I’ve learned—sometimes you have to go through things so God can birth a new fire inside you.

So if no one’s told you lately, here’s your reminder:

God can use you exactly the way you are. Don’t underestimate the power of showing up. Don’t dismiss something just because it feels small.

Keep showing up for your shift. Eventually, those consistent steps will lead you up the mountain. And one day, you’ll look up and realize—you’ve reached Mount Worthy.
