The Other Side!

Imagine this… you’re sitting across from me at the Worthy Cafe, and you look at me and say, “Okay… if I’m being honest, I’ve been struggling with my health and fitness. I start, I stop, I don’t stay consistent… and I don’t know how to fix it.”
And I’d lean in a little and smile and say, “Yeah… I get that. I’ve been there too. But what if this time it’s not about being perfect? What if this time it’s just about not quitting in the middle? What if we actually do this WITH Jesus instead of trying to figure it all out on our own?”
Because let me ask you… have you ever started a journey and you were ALL in? You told everyone, “This is it, this time I’m doing it.” You started strong, you were consistent, you felt good… and then it got hard. Life hit, motivation dropped, and somehow you ended up right back where you started. Now you’re either struggling to restart… or you’re scared to even try again.
But Kingdom Sister, Kingdom Brother… it’s time. Time to go to the OTHER SIDE.

In Matthew 14, the disciples had just witnessed the miracle of the 5,000. They were on a spiritual high, like wow, Jesus is moving! (And side note, Jesus is your source… He’s where your “bread” comes from). But right after that, Jesus tells them to get in a boat and go to the other side. Not stay in the excitement, not stay in what felt good, but move into growth.
And isn’t that how it feels? You start your journey, you hit that first workout, maybe the scale drops a pound, and you’re like “Yes let’s go!” But then you find yourself in the middle. The wind starts blowing, the waves start hitting, things feel uncomfortable and uncertain… and you’re like, “Jesus… where are You?”
That middle space? That’s where most people quit. You’ve left the old version of you, but you haven’t reached the new version yet. It feels confusing, maybe even discouraging. But hear me, getting to the OTHER SIDE requires you to endure the middle. The storm doesn’t mean you’re off track… it means you’re in it.
And right there, in the middle of the storm, Jesus comes walking on the water and says, “Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

I love this because He didn’t wait for them on the other side, He met them in the middle. And that’s what He’s doing for you too… right in your inconsistency, right in your frustration, right in your “I don’t know what I’m doing” season.
Now here’s where it gets real, you have a choice. You can stay in the boat, weighed down by excuses, fear, doubt, and overthinking… or you can step out. When Peter asked Jesus to call him out, Jesus gave him one word: “Come.” No full plan, no step-by-step, no perfectly mapped-out fitness routine… just come.
And this is for you, God will often withhold the “how” to keep you connected to the WHO.

So if you’re sitting there thinking, “I don’t even know where to start,” that’s okay. Start with Him. Invite Jesus into your health and fitness. Take one step, then another. He will highlight what’s next as you move.
Yeah, stepping out is scary. The boat feels safe, predictable, comfortable. But the miracle? That’s in the deep. You don’t need to see the whole path, you just need to trust the One who called you. And even if you feel like you’re sinking, He’s right there to pull you up.
There is another side to this. Even if from where you’re standing it looks like a dead end or just another failed attempt… from the OTHER SIDE you’ll see it differently. It wasn’t failure, it was a bridge. A bridge to a stronger, more disciplined, more confident version of you.
So keep going. Don’t quit in the middle. Step out of the boat… and come to Jesus.
And if you were sitting here with me, I’d probably smile and say, “We’re not staying stuck here. We’re going to the OTHER SIDE… together. Woot woot!!”
