Hey Kingdom Sisters & Brothers,
Grab your coffee and your Bible—we’re diving deep today! Imagine we’re sitting together at the Worthy Blog Café, hearts open, journals ready. But let me warn you—after today’s study, you won’t just want coffee; you’ll be thirsty for Jesus’ living water!
Before We Begin: Read John 4:4-26
Over the next three days, we’re walking through the powerful encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. Each devotional will be short, but packed with truth, helping you go deeper into the Word and reflect on how it applies to your life. So, before you continue, pause and read John 4:4-26—let the Holy Spirit prepare your heart!
Jesus Had to Go
Let’s step into John 4:4-26—the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. But before we dive in, I want you to imagine yourself in her place. This isn’t just a story—it’s your personal encounter with Jesus today.
John 4:4 tells us,
“He HAD TO GO through Samaria on the way.” (NLT)
Pause. Highlight those words in your Bible.
Jewish people typically avoided Samaria because they looked down on Samaritans. But Jesus? He was on a love assignment. He had to go—not because of geography, but because He had an appointment with a woman who didn’t even know she needed Him.
Have you ever felt like Jesus just showed up at the perfect moment in your life? That’s exactly what’s happening here.

Meeting Jesus in the Middle of the Mess
Jesus sits beside Jacob’s well at noon—the hottest part of the day. Enter the Samaritan woman.
Women usually gathered water in the morning or evening together. But she comes alone.
Maybe she felt ashamed, rejected, or unworthy. Maybe she was avoiding the whispers and side-eyes of the other women. Yet, Jesus speaks to her.
Pause and let that sink in.
In that culture, men didn’t even speak to women in public—not even their own wives. But Jesus? He doesn’t care about man-made rules—He cares about hearts.
💛 Jesus isn’t afraid of your mess. He meets you in it.

Reflection Questions:
When has Jesus met you in the middle of your mess? How did it change you?
What barriers do you think stand between you and Jesus right now?
How does knowing that Jesus "had to go" to meet this woman encourage you in your walk with Him?
