Shift Worthy Chronicles: The Start of Something New!

ree

It’s time for Shift Worthy Chronicles Week 1! Woot! Woot! Alexa, cue some upbeat motivational workout music! I just completed the first week of taking back my Kingdom Confidence through health and fitness, and wow, what a week it’s been!

This journey has shown me that it all starts with me—I have to be the one to step out of my comfort zone and take messy action! God has given me all the tools, and now it’s up to me to use them. This week was challenging; I spent most of it feeling awful and uncomfortable. Taking before pictures was tough, and adjusting to a new nutrition plan was even tougher. But it wasn’t until day four that I started to feel good. There’s something incredible about letting go of the old (pizza, chocolate, and extra coffee) and beginning to fuel your body with the right nutrition. It’s like a breath of fresh air that revitalizes not just your body but your spirit too.

One thing that has been instrumental in reclaiming my Kingdom Confidence is tracking everything. At the beginning of the week, I meet with Jesus at the Worthy Cafe. I pour out my heart, tell Him how I’m feeling, and invite Him into my health and fitness journey. This time with Him sets the tone for the week. I write down my goals and make my grocery list, knowing that He is guiding me every step of the way.

Throughout the week, I track everything—my Bible reading, water intake, workouts, steps, mindset, every bite of food, and even my weight. At first, I was hesitant to weigh myself daily because I didn’t want the scale to define me. But I’ve found that it actually helps me stay mindful. I can look back at what I ate and how it affected me, allowing me to make adjustments as needed. It’s not about obsessing over the numbers but about understanding what works best for my body.

My workouts have been consistent—I’m working out six days a week, from Friday to Wednesday, for about 40 minutes each day. I’m loving my routine, which includes lifting weights with a mix of primal movement for mobility and flexibility. Friday to Tuesday is focused on weights, with primal movements at the end when my body is warmed up. Wednesday is cardio day, and Thursday is for active recovery, where I enjoy a peaceful evening walk.

As uncomfortable as this first week was, I stuck with it, and by the end, I felt amazing. My chiropractor even noticed the difference and encouraged me to keep doing what I’m doing. It’s incredible how much can change in just one week, and I’m feeling more Kingdom Confident already!

Looking back, I realize that this journey is more than just physical—it’s deeply spiritual. Every time I felt weak, I leaned into Jesus, and He gave me the strength to keep going. Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," and that truth has been my anchor. This isn’t just about getting fit; it’s about honoring the body God has given me and walking in the confidence that comes from knowing who I am in Christ.

So here’s to the first week of reclaiming Kingdom Confidence! It’s just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of this journey.

Week 2 Coming Friday September 6th!
